When we talk about The Plan, we do not mean a perfect life plan.
We mean something much simpler.
For us, a plan often starts at the kitchen table with a cuppa, a notebook, and a conversation about what needs doing next.
Sometimes it is about money.
Sometimes it is about food.
Sometimes it is about the house.
Sometimes it is about a problem we have been putting off.
The plan does not have to be big. It just has to help us take the next sensible step.
We started Two Mugs and a Plan because ordinary life can become complicated, especially when prices rise, income changes, energy changes, or things around the home start to pile up.
We are not experts. We are not trying to tell anyone how to live.
We are simply sharing the things we do, the mistakes we have made, the problems we have solved, and the small habits that help us manage life a bit better.
Our kind of planning is not strict or fancy.
It might mean checking what food we already have before shopping.
It might mean looking at one bill instead of ignoring the whole pile.
It might mean writing down the small jobs that keep getting forgotten.
It might mean deciding not to buy something until we have thought about whether we really need it.
Sometimes the best plan is not to do more. Sometimes it is to slow down, use what we already have, and stop making things harder than they need to be.
You do not have to sort everything out at once.
Start where life feels most pressing.
If money feels tight, start with Making and Managing Money.
If food costs are bothering you, start with Eating on a Budget.
If the home feels hard to manage, start with Organising Your Home.
If small jobs keep piling up, start with Maintain to Make It Last.
If you just feel unsure, start with Getting Started.
Each part of the website is there to help with one ordinary part of life. You can choose the area that matters most to you now.
Choose one small thing.
Use up one item of food before it goes bad.
Look at one bill.
Clear one small surface.
Write down three jobs that are bothering you.
Delay one purchase until tomorrow.
Check what you already have before buying more.
That is enough for a start.
Small plans still count.
Our videos show more of the real-life side of what we do. Some are practical. Some are personal. Some are simply about how we live and what we are learning along the way.
Start with the page that feels most useful today:
Getting Started
For simple first steps when life feels a bit much.
Making and Managing Money
For bills, budgeting, spending choices, and making money go further.
Eating on a Budget
For pantry habits, leftovers, shopping, and simple meals.
Problems We Solved
For real examples of things we changed in our own home and life.
We do not always get it right.
But we have learned that sitting down, talking things through, and making one small plan can make life feel more manageable.
That is what this website is about.
Two mugs.
One plan.
One step at a time.
